Description
Don’t throw away your favorite worn-out jeans—celebrate their history instead! Join me for a relaxing, creative Friday night workshop dedicated to the art of Visible Mending. If you have a pair of jeans with a tear, a thinning knee, or a pocket that needs some love, this class is the perfect way to give them a beautiful new life.
Visible mending turns a clothing flaw into a design feature, but your clothing doesn’t actually need to have holes to join the fun! If you have a plain jean shirt, a denim skirt, or a dress that just needs a little something something, this technique is a fantastic way to add pure embellishment. In this 2.5-hour open workshop, we will explore the wonderful rhythm of sashiko-inspired techniques. It is a slow, intentional, and incredibly satisfying way to customize your clothes.
Unwind from the week, enjoy some cozy studio company, and embrace the low-pressure joy of giving your clothing a beautiful new chapter!
No extensive sewing experience required!
What to Bring: Please bring a worn pair of jeans, a denim jacket, a shirt, or a dress that you want to mend or embellish. Please contact me if you have any questions prior to class.
What’s Included
Materials: Hand-sewing needles, athreads, and patching fabrics pulled straight from our studio stash are provided.
2.5 Hours of Studio Time: A Friday evening to chat, stitch, and focus entirely on transforming your clothing without home distractions.
Expert Guidance: Step-by-step, patient instruction through fabric placement, securing tears, layout design, and mastering the beautiful running “big stitch.”
Full Tool Access: Full use of our studio supplies, cutting mats, rulers, scissors, and irons.
Welcome to the Slipper Studio! Leave your street shoes at the door. Bring your favorite slippers (or house shoes), get cozy, and join us for some low-pressure making.

Price: $45 for the 2.5-hour workshop (Supplies included)
